The Founder Rene So , grew up in a family with an auto supply business, he shared that he knows the ins and out of a vehicle and the automotive business is very close to his heart, even if he is till young, he has the hunger to expand it even more. In the year 1989 they got the news that Toyota will have a rebirth in the Philippines. They immediately applied. Then after 4 years of patiently waiting, they were appointed to be the Toyota dealership in Pangasinan. He appreciated the Toyota way because it pushed him to be the best version of himself with “ respect for people and continuous improvement” as its pillars. He said that it is a company that he is proud to be part of and the company that he wants to pass down to his son.
Richmond is an achiever and always wants to be at the best of his game. His early childhood was filled with an amazing adventure about playing games and being the best at everything. While he is studying, he developed a love for data analysis, training and graduated as one of the best students. Even though he was offered with a 6-figure salary.
Even though he was offered with a 6-figure salary. He honored his parents by fulfilling their wish for him to work in the province and to manage their newly built dealership in La Union. He fell deeper in love with Toyota when he visited the Tokyo Motor Show in Japan and desired to collect classic Toyota cars.
In the year 2017, Richmond got the opportunity to acquire the illusive AE 86 and A80 by then He started collecting all the generations of Land cruiser, Celica and Supra.
In the year 2020 the construction began. After 2 years with the delays due the pandemic R garage was established in the year 2022. a 1600 square meters Pure Toyota Car museum ready to cater visitors, for them to appreciate the “ Rich History of Toyota “ and the complete line up of Celica , Land Cruiser and Supra.
R garage isn’t just here to honor Toyota, ignite a passion for automobile but here to share Toyota’s values ( Two pillar of Toyota Way ; Respect for people & Continuous Improvement ) and lastly to give back to the society.

It’s not just R garage ( Rene and Richmond’s garage) but “our” garage a place where we can all witness the greatness of Toyota of the past , present and future.
According to Collins dictionary R is a written abbreviation meaning “ King “. R garage is the first of its kind here in the Philippines. This museum holds the largest collection of Toyota vehicles from past to present which means it is the “ Pinnacle” or “ King “ in this aspect.
Red means “ Love and Passion “ Love for the people and the brand is what our founders are passionate about. R garage is a platform for tourism development and growth in the quality of life for the people in the community. It is also an extension of Toyota’s principle “excellence to exceed”. To serve the people with utmost love and passion.
